History
One of the great passions of Pablo Neruda were the literary and cultural magazines since his early teens he actively joined the editing and publication of them. In his hands appeared some magazines like "Knight of Wands" (originally called Scaffolding), "Green Horse of Poetry ", "The Gazette of Chile" and others that are part of the hispanic cultural history.
In mid 1989 is published, for the first time, what pretended to be the "visible face" of the Foundation NEWSLETTER magazine. Its first director was the journalist and writer Luis Alberto Mansilla.
The quarterly newsletter format was modest. Already in 1995 the magazine was transformed into "Notebooks", as it is known today.
During these years the magazine has managed to fulfill its essential purposes, which are stimulating the development of literature and arts in general, especially in regard to new generations in Chile and Latin America, and be a bridge to their regular readers and scholars from around the world.
Important feathers have enriched its pages, like Sofia Vergara, Sara Vial, Inés Valenzuela, Poli Délano, Carlos Cerda, Francisco Coloane, among others.
